The Fortune 400 has a net worth of $1.37 trillion – which is more than the lower 60% of households. Sounds terrible right?
If you redistributed that to all 315 million Americans, each person would receive $4,300. If you redistributed it to only 60% of the population, each person would receive $7,248.
Now, the US has about 125 million households. If you redistributed all that wealth to every household, each would receive about $11,000. If you redistributed to only the poorest 60% of households, each would receive $18,400.
Basic math quickly proves how ineffective wealth redistribution is at reducing inequality. This is because the CREATION of wealth enhances our standard of living – not the DIVISION of wealth. Socialists may never understand this concept (or math), but it is imperative to understand how their outlandish claims can be easily disproven.
Just because someone flaunts big numbers and yells loudly doesn’t mean they have a valid point.
